Job Title: Customer Service Operations Manager – Full Container Load (FCL) Drayage
Location: Ventura, CA
Job Description:
  • Manage the FCL drayage brokerage Customer Service/Operations staff
  • Organize workflow, set priorities, monitor activity, and ensure completion of work
  • Maintain a network of fully insured and compliant drayage providers sufficient to meet customer demand
  • Act as escalation “point of contact” for customers and vendor concerns and opportunities
  • Assign workflow for operations staff, ensuring coverage for all time zones across the US
  • Work closely with staff to ensure operational questions are answered timely and procedures are optimized
  • Establish exception reports to address and improve operational efficiency
  • Design and implement process control procedures – modifying existing procedures where necessary
  • Create and monitor vendor performance scorecards
  • Select tools to improve ease of access to our vendor network including proactive compliance notifications
  • Coordinate/oversee various ad hoc projects
  • Serve as backup as required due to workload/absence
  • Review work for accuracy and ensure client specifications are met
  • Research and recommend solutions on recurring issues within the operations/customer service teams
  • Support team efforts to coordinate shipments per customer specifications and minimize costs as if they were our own
  • Work with management to ensure alignment with company strategy in forecasting and business plans
  • Collaborate internally with the team on processes, pricing strategy, operational coverage, and account implementation plans
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Monitor industry trends and how key factors impact business strategies for our company and our customers
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to perform in a high speed, deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent customer service, communication, problem solving, and negotiation skills are required
  • High degree of initiative and independent execution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Job Title: Full Container Load Drayage Trucking Coordinator
Location: Ventura, CA
Job Description:
  • Coordinate shipment for our customers, per their specifications and minimizing costs as if they were our own
  • Closely monitor shipments, always striving towards defect-free service to our customers
  • Immediately advise customers of any variances including additional charges, revised dates/times, and updated requirements
  • Communicate with our network of drayage carriers to cover loads, send rate requests, dispatch load assignments and assist drivers with routing and other needs or questions
  • Monitor carrier movement from shipper to receiver to ensure loads are picked up/delivered on time and in the intended condition
  • Ensure timely update of shipment milestones, whether updated directly by our vendor or updated by our company on our vendors’ behalf
  • Request and audit all necessary shipping and carrier documents
  • Respond to a high volume of communications daily
  • Work with management to ensure alignment with company strategy in forecasting and business plans
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Monitor industry trends and how key factors impact business strategies for our company and our customers
Job Requirements:
  • 2+ years of recent experience within the transportation industry preferred
  • Excellent customer service, communication (both verbal & written), problem solving, and negotiation skills are required
  • Ability to perform in a high speed, deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • High degree of initiative and independent execution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word
